Lizzie Borden Murders - Crime Scene & Death Pictures
On August 4, 1892, in Fall River, Massachusetts, Andrew and Abby Borden were found brutally murdered in their home. Their daughter, Lizzie Borden, became the prime suspect in the case. Andrew Borden, a prosperous businessman, and his wife, Abby, were found murdered with multiple axe blows to their heads. The gruesomeness of the murders, combined with the Borden family's prominence in the community, led to widespread public interest and media coverage. Lizzie Borden, then 32 years old, was arrested and charged with the murders. The subsequent trial was a media sensation, with extensive newspaper coverage both locally and nationally. The prosecution argued that Lizzie had a motive due to family tensions and disagreements over money. However, the defense highlighted the lack of physical evidence connecting her to the crime and the improbability of her committing the murders without being discovered. In June 1893, Lizzie Borden was acquitted of the murders, largely due to the circumstantial nature of the evidence and the lack of a clear motive or physical evidence. Despite her acquittal, Lizzie remained a figure of public scrutiny and suspicion for the rest of her life. ![]() Her father Andrew Borden after death: ![]() ![]() ![]() The stepmother Abby after death: House where the murders took place: |

Re: Lizzie Borden Murders - Crime Scene & Death Pictures
Wow!! I am quite familiar with this case, but I don't recall having seen the close up photos of the victims. Great find, Kel! Lizzie Borden took an axe And gave her mother forty whacks. When she saw what she had done She gave her father forty-one. |

Re: Lizzie Borden Murders - Crime Scene & Death Pictures
That was a great post! I've never seen any of the wounds before. Just the pics of the step mother on the floor and the father on the couch. Blurry and not really detailed. Thanks! YOU ROCK Guess photography was crappy then since the Jack the Ripper victim pictures are also blurry... some of them. |

Re: Lizzie Borden Murders - Crime Scene & Death Pictures
Me. I think she did it but WHY she did it I have never heard anything convincing. Anyone remember Elizabeth Montgomery ("Samantha" from "Bewitched") as Lizzie Bordon in that TV movie from the 1970's |
