Re: DR's Official MMA Thread
well I defended the reem but the arguments for his drug use were strong and tended to go like this If you have never lifted before and start a good bodybuilding program with proper nutrition you can put on a lot of muscle, for seasoned lifters its harder. People posted studys into whats humanly possible and that seems to be around 23 pounds a year ( see - The Colgan Institute of Nutritional Sciences ) now thats trained athletes using a Bodybuilding program. For a pro MMA fighter to do such would be a lot harder some train for 6 hours a day, they would have to eat far more then pro bodybuilders for a start due to all that cardio. Now some would argue he had to cut to get to 205, fine lets say he walked around at 220 he still ended up 260/270 of pure muscle in just over a year. The only argument for him was perhaps he was a freak of nature. But then he missed a test (why he was only given a temporary licence for the brock fight) then failed one. Now steriods are allowed in japan, using Peds would not totally diminish his wins there if not for the fact he was so admimant that he was not using. His test following the bigfoot fight showed abnormaly low testosterone (for a pro athlete the only explanation IMO is PED abuse) and he did not look as cut as he had the last 3 years. It seems logical that he has been using the whole time. Make no mistake I enjoyed the ride but reems rise from 205 loser to HW monster has been discredited in my eyes |

Re: DR's Official MMA Thread
Rory Mac has the potential to be a champion one day. Jake is a two-time Division II All-American, finishing third in the country twice. I personally don't think Rory has battled a wrestler with Jake's credentials. Styles make fights and as a betting man I'm staying clear of this shit.
