Space Facts

Love this stuff :P

Saturn's moon titan has hundreds of times more oil and natural gas than all the known reserves on earth.

If a pinhead-size piece of the sun were to be placed on earth, one would have to stand as far as 140 kilometers (90miles) away to be safe.

The star "Lucy" in constellation centaurus is actually a huge cosmic diamond of 10 billion trillion trillion carats.

A neutron star has such density that a teaspoonful of it's matter would weigh more than all the people on earth.

Jupiter is so big that twice the mass of the rest of our solar system's planets combined would still not be enough to equal it's mass.

About 1,000 earths would fit inside jupiter
-and the sun could hold about 1,000 jupiters.

Voyager 1 spacecraft is the farthest human-made object in the universe.

The speed of light-299 million meters a second- would still take about 26 billion years to reach one end of the visible universe to the other.

A dwarf planet is so dense that it would take 8 men to lift a teaspoon full if its matter.

The number of neuron cells in our brain is more than the total number of stars in our galaxy.

A new star is born in our galaxy every 18 days.

An astronaut can be up to 2 inches taller returning from space. The cartilage disks in the spine expand in the absence of gravity.

The fact was not translated from science to common english right... they believe Titan has oceans of alcohol [liquid fuel] in the area of methanol and ethanol... both are naturally occurring, but good call

Re: Space Facts

Agree, dont think you will find crude oil on that moon.
Oil is a fossil fuel.
As far as I know, there have never been any manned excavations on that moon, or any other moon for that fact, except our own. So how would we know what would be subsurface?

fossil fuels infer there were dinosaurs in Saturns moons... its naturally occuring alcohol fuels, and they can tell by color shifts, and have even witnessed volcanoes on that moon.

Re: Space Facts

Dont worry about what is on the moon. Lets worry about what is going on with the earth. We might have to move to the moon someday if we dont take care of our planet, EARTH!
