Re: **19th Century Photos of Dead People**

Hmm odd, so back then when they held a burial they'd give out cards that shows a picture of the person being dead rather than being alive with a big fat smile on ones face? And then those family members place those cards on their shelves for everyone to see.
Or was there no reason to have a big fat smile on your face back then? Maybe people looked better dead, meh might have a good reason then i don't know i wasn't there.

I'm always of the opinion that once a person is dead they should not be displayed like this because there's many unlucky fools that for instance get their head blown off by whatever comes to mind and then their family can't get a "neat" display like the ones above.

I've never gone to a brurial in my life, the only one i will attend is my own.

Burials give images and i still recall things from a long time ago i have yet to met a person irl that can recall images from the past as far as i do.
Anyway i won't be able to forget the sight of my dead family member or friend and it would certainly follow me and distract me on certain whiles where i will just stare at the wall and ask myself why him, why him?

Re: **19th Century Photos of Dead People**

This is by far the best post I've ever seen on this site. I usually don't care to view children(actually avoid them) however, I cant help but notice peace and "beauty" that were captured in the above pics. it's actually quite beautiful. You have out done yourself kelly.. Way to open my eyes.. Great work

Re: **19th Century Photos of Dead People**

The autopsy pictures of the students smoking pipes were humorous. That was a practice back then to help with the smell especially when autopsies were performed on already decomposing corpses. I have performed many autopsies and let me tell you even the freshest death still stinks.
