*UPDATE* Australian Man Murdered in Bali - Throat Cut and Body Wrapped

http://www.news.com.au/world/asia/bo...-1227097757135

THE wife of a man, with two sons studying in Australia, is being questioned by police after he was found murdered execution style in Bali with his throat cut, his hands and feet tied.

Robert Kelvin Ellis, 60, was found wrapped in plastic at about 8am (11am AEDT) by farmer Putu Giri Susena in a ditch in a paddy field in Sedang Village in the Abiansemal subdistrict of Badung Regency in Bali.

“We have identified the victim. He is an Australian, who lives in a villa in Sanur,” said police investigator Wisnu Wardana.

“When found the corpse was wrapped in plastic with a bed cover over the body. The hands and feet were tied up.

“We alleged that there was physical violence to the victim.”

Police later said that Ellis had a UK passport who had lived for some time in Australia before moving to Indonesia.

Komang Suartana, the head of Badung police, said that police were still investigating the case.

“This is a murder case. But we are yet to find the motive. Our investigation team are still conducting the investigation,” Suartana said.

Asked if the dead man’s wife was a suspect in the case, he said that so far no suspects had been identifiied.

He said that based on security cameras the dead man and his wife Nur were last seen leaving the villa by car at 1.10pm on Sunday.

“After that only Nur was coming in and out of the villa alone.”

Staff at the Emerald Villa complex in Sanur, where the couple lived, said that the couple had two sons who both study in Australia.

Staff member Ketut Kastawan said the couple had been living in the villa for more than 10 years.

A wreath of flowers delivered to the villa yesterday said: “To Noor Ellis. Bob was wonderful man. He will be missed by all of us.”

Ida Bagus Putu Alit, the head of Sanglah’s forensic team, said Ellis’ throat was cut three times, with one wound fatal. He also had several bruises around his head.

Ellis, known as Mr Bob, is said to be blonde-haired, 165cm tall, weighing 103kg. There is a surgical scar to the right of the stomach.

Mr Bob is estimated to have died about 18-24 hours before he was found Tuesday.

Police also revealed that they had found a doormat and mobile phone. The phone was found in the ditch.
Wisnu Wardana said there was no report of a missing person.

Ellis’ wife, an Indonesian, positively identified his body in Sanglah morgue.

I'm not sure but in anpther article it said they'd been married 14 years, and that they had a young family in Bali. So I'm guessing she's younger but not too much.

Re: Australian Man Murdered in Bali - Throat Cut and Body Wrapped

http://www.smh.com.au/world/robert-k...21-119k5q.html

A man found with his throat slashed, wrapped in plastic and dumped in a Bali rice field, has been named by police.

The police chief of Badung district, Komang Suartana identified the man as Robert Kelvin Ellis, 60.

His passport showed he was a British citizen, but that he had lived in Australia before moving to be an expatriate in Bali.

Mr Ellis was a resident of Sanur, Badung police officer Komang Suartana says.

Detective Wisnu Wardana says his body was found about 8am local time on Tuesday, in Sedang Village between the tourist towns of Ubud and Kuta, and was already in a state of decay.

"He was found wrapped in a bed cover, and a black plastic sheet beside the street, next to rice fields," Mr Komang said.

A farmer found the plastic bag when he was walking to fetch water from the river.*

"At the moment we are still investigating the victim's house in Sanur, to investigate if there were traces of violence there, if it was the crime scene. We are also questioning his wife, partly to find out when she last saw him," Mr Komang said

Police say Mr Ellis' Indonesian wife reported him missing and has identified him from a photograph.

She was yet to make a positive identification at the morgue.

A friend who did not want to be identified but who knew Ellis and his Indonesian wife for 14 years said he was a "very very successful businessman" with a family in Australia with grandchildren, and another, younger family in Indonesia.

The friend said Ellis and his wife ran companies in Bali, Australia and Jakarta.

"He was one of the nicest men I ever met, I don't know how anyone could do anything so cruel," the friend said.

He had gone missing on Saturday night or Sunday morning and had not been seen since.

"Who knows what happens. If you piss the wrong person off in Bali, or if you do the wrong thing, weird things happen. This is a very weird island, things happen for very stupid reasons or no reason at all," the friend said.

Detectives have found a mat at the crime scene, which they believe was used to move Mr Ellis' body, as well as money and a mobile phone.

Doctor Ida Bagus Putu Alit, a forensic specialist at Sanglah Hospital said the man's head and neck, as well as both feet were wrapped in plastic, then another layer of plastic wrapped around the whole body.

Dr Ida said the mobile phone found on the body had been given to cyber police to be investigated.*

Dr Ida said the man, who was 165cm tall and 103kg, had also suffered three cuts to the neck: one of which was the cause of death.

"The fatal wounds were caused by sharp-object violence," he said.

There were also bruises around his mouth and his right cheek, and also on both his upper arms.

It's estimated he was killed between 4.30am and 10.30am on Monday morning.*

Mr Ellis is the sixth death of an Australian in Indonesia in 2014.*

On September 5, a respected boardmaker on Queensland's Gold Coast, Geoff Moase, 48, died while surfing off Sorga Beach in Lombok, Indonesia.

Noosa man Peter Maynard, 45, went missing from his accommodation on Nusa Lembongan, off Bali on September 4; a section of his surfboard was handed in on September 6.

Cairns man John-Paul Lipscombe, 53, died of a suspected asthma attack as he was setting out to climb Indonesia's Mount Rinjani volcano on June 9.

A Queensland mother and daughter, Noelene and Yvana Bischoff died on the Indonesian holiday island of Bali, from a rare form of food poisoning on January 4.

Re: *UPDATE* Australian Man Murdered in Bali - Throat Cut and Body Wrapped

Wife confesses to ordering her husband's murder

THE wife of a man found murdered in Bali has confessed to ordering a hit on her husband and has tonight been declared a suspect in his grisly death.
And police in Bali say that one of his killers has been arrested.

Police said it would be alleged that Robert Kelvin Ellis’s wife, Julaikah Noor Aini, paid to have her husband murdered for many reasons, including claims that he often cheated on her.

Julaikah Noor Aini, who is Indonesian, is known as Noor Ellis.
Mr Ellis, a 60-year-old British national, is believed to have lived in Australia before moving to Bali to live.

Another three people are being hunted for involvement in the death.
Mr Ellis’ body was found wrapped in plastic and dumped in a ditch at Badung. His throat had been slashed and he had suffered neck wounds and the body was also covered by a bed sheet.

Badung police chief Komang Suartana said tonight: “We have appointed his wife as a suspect. We have also caught one of the killers and we are still pursuing three others.”

One killer had been arrested at Padang Bai in east Bali.
“The motive is because his wife felt embittered with the victim,” Suartana said.
“Because of many things. She said that her husband is often cheating on her. We allege that she paid the executioners to kill her husband.”

Staff at the Emerald Villa complex in Sanur, where the couple lived, said the pair’s two sons studied in Australia.

Police originally said that Mr Ellis was an Australian but later revised this, saying it was understood he had spent time in Australia.
The body was found about 8am local time on Tuesday by a farmer near a rice field and was taken to Sanglah morgue for an autopsy.

The farmer originally saw the body in the ditch on Monday morning but did not realise it was a body until Tuesday, when he looked more closely.

doormat and mobile phone were also found near the body, along with some US dollars.

Ida Bagus Putu Alit, the head of the forensic team, said the victim’s throat had been cut and there were three open wounds in the neck and chin.
He said the victim probably died about 18 to 24 hours before the body was found, so in the early morning of Monday.

Police have said that the couple was last seen together about 1.10pm on Sunday, leaving the villa complex by car.

Re: *UPDATE* Australian Man Murdered in Bali - Throat Cut and Body Wrapped

Stupid cunt should have either put up with it or left.

He probably wasn't going to stop sleeping around if there was lots of fresh pussy around and he had money, and there was nothing she could do to make herself attractive enough where he wouldn't keep straying if that's what he wanted to do. He was probably just staying with her for the kids sake.

If she left she could have taken half the wealth and found someone new, instead she'll spend the rest of her life in jail and the kids are practically orphans now. Very silly move.
