Re: Report: Rebels Responsible for Houla Massacre

And remember what was the justification for invading Iraq. FOX News said Iraq might nuke Manhattan... there was a commercial showing a nuclear bomb falling on a US town with a girl on a swing set getting burned to death. Ahmad Chalabi moaned and bitched about oppression in Saddam's government. But oppression is a fact of Middle Eastern life, it has ALWAYS been so, as long as the West became an automobile-driven society. No oil= no cars, no commute, no work, no economic growth.

The truth though now is that Al-Maliki can't even get his shit together and eats Iranian dick for breakfast and lunch, people are constantly getting killed but US media doesn't show it anymore because we are "out of Iraq, one and done", people have no running water and are looking back at Saddam and saying "well, at least the trains ran on time back then". Meanwhile, Baghdad's nice areas are doing relatively well while Basra, Najaf, Tikrit, etc are all in shambles and the Kurds are running their own shit in the north... Americans have no sense of long-term memory to remember that before invasion of Iraq in 2003, the USA sanctioned the hell out of that country and made it the poorest nation in the Middle East and in the world, except for some places in Africa... that these sanctions killed more and more Iraqis than the Gulf War and 2003 military actions ever did. Saddam was a madman but no one is denying this reality of Iraq today.

Same thing is happening with Iran- the Kurds, Azeris and Baluchis are getting paid to secede, Reza Kahlili is saying Iran wants to drop an EMP on US skies and has potential to kill 200 million Americans in 1 year because of power outages... how can you not see this is propaganda?? You think Iran, whose oil is now capped at 95%, who is no longer in the SWIFT system, whose military uses jets from the 1960's and still uses the F-14 Tomcat (LOL) and only has like 40 of them, has even the money or capability to launch an ICBM from a submarine in the Atlantic, over the US soil? And somehow, the USA with its Patriot missile system, state of the art, cannot intercept such a missile? With its satellites, cannot preemptively detect and strike any Iranian vessel at will? Iran can't even put a rocket on the Strait of Hormuz without inviting the entire world to invade it and destroy it, and this is its own turf we are talking about... LOL... really man, for all this "Amurrica, fuck yeah" you have no idea about geopolitical or military things.

Weeb, its not about us being bigger and stronger. Its about them being threatening, stating they will level Israel. Allowing them to get nuclear bombs is irresponsible.

And weeb, fox news didn't supply the justification for invading Iraq. Can we atleast not spread propaganda. Speak the truth, Saddam could have prevented the entire war easily.

Re: Report: Rebels Responsible for Houla Massacre

Irans mullahs are about to produce their first home-built nuclear weapons this year. If we permit that, many other countries, some of whose governments are dangerously unstable, will build their own nuclear weapons to deter Iran and each other from nuclear attack as our inaction will have demonstrated our unwillingness to keep the peace. This rapid and widespread proliferation will inevitably lead to use of nuclear weapons in anger, both by terrorists and by fearful and unstable third world regimes, at which point the existing world order will break down and we will suffer every Hobbesian nightmare of nuclear proliferation.

Let me give you a run through of Saddam's actions.

1. He invaded Iran with the full backing of the US, USSR, Europe, and China. He used chemical weapons bought from the US and Europe against Iranians en masse and especially against Kurdish civilians. Everyone turned a blind eye to this. He also launches SCUD missiles at elementary schools in an attempt to "break Iran's spirit". Again, the world pretended this didn't happen.

2. After 1.5 years Iran kicked his forces deep into his own territory (surprising feat because Iraq had the world's 3rd largest military and the best Soviet and French military technology to date while Iran had nothing but brigades made of martyrs who fought with cheap North Korean AK knockoffs, and Iran's forces had little to no formal training because Khomeini tried to destroy the well-trained Imperial Army and replace it with Revolutionary Guards).

3. Iran invaded Iraq for six years and what prevented Basra, Najaf, and Kirkuk from being Iranian territory was Saddam's desperate and reckless use of chemical and biological weapons, breaking the Geneva Conventions in front of the UN with their tacit approval.

4. This war bled Saddam dry and he had a huge military with no pay. He owed Kuwait billions of dollars and refused to pay. When they decided to turn the Gulf States against him because of his defaulting, he invaded Kuwait to try to annex it. Kuwait did business with the USA and this invasion also scared Saudi Arabia, so the US came and invaded Iraq. Not only did they invade Iraq, but they then enacted sanctions- which do NOTHING to hurt those in power and do everything to hurt civilians- and poisoned Iraqi wells, resulting in hundreds and thousands of dead Iraqis from infection, starvation, and poison.

5. The US incited Iraqi Shi'ites to rebel, promising they would send help, but when they rebelled, they sat back and watched the Shi'ites get killed by Saddam. This is such a known fact that it's even in one of your Hollywood films, The Three Kings.

6. When the US invaded in 2003, Saddam was the only thing holding that country together.

You need to learn something about the Middle East- people there LIVE with oppression and lack of democracy because it's in their culture. Iran has had 2500 years of autocracy and so have the other countries, ancestors of Babylon, the Abbasids, the Caliphs, the Mughals, Parthians, Seljuks and Ottomans... these were not democratic regimes. People in the ME put up with autocracy because they've done it that way for thousands of years and because their main concern is their economy and their ability to eat food and raise a family, they can care less about democracy and likely a Middle Eastern democracy looks nothing like a Western one (just look at Iran's system for an example of Middle Eastern Republican system).

How could Saddam have prevented the war when his every attempt to talk to the US to prevent sanctions was rebuffed by the US? This is what they are doing to Iran. You know how many times Rafsanjani, Khatami, even Khamenei, tried to talk to the US? You know that recently Ahmadinejad tried to talk to the US and was willing to stop Iran's nuclear program totally and completely? What does Obama say? "Sorry, now is not the time to talk". How is this diplomacy? This is why right-wingers in Iran don't want to talk to the US.

Now let me educate you about nukes.

The thing about nukes is that a third-world country can build one or two of them but never use them in an offensive sense because the US, Russia, and European Union have enough nukes in their arsenal to kill every single person in that country. Any usage of nukes, even dirty bombs, would result in Mutually Assured Destruction.

The only reason countries acquire nuclear technology is deterrence. Look at Pakistan. India had nukes and Pakistan did not. There were so many border clashes and wars between the two countries before they both had nukes. India wanted Pakistan's Land, Pakistan wanted Kashmir, etc. Now that Pakistan has nukes also, the two countries have a mutual respect for each other and have not gone to war for a very long time.

Iran's getting nukes- not because of Israel or Pakistan. But because there are thousands of foreign agents in that country working to overthrow their government. Because the US's foreign policy is to separate Iran into five or so little states with no economic or military power. Because the USA swiftly destroyed Saddam and the Taliban in a matter of weeks and those countries had no deterrence capabilities. Nukes are 100 % about deterrence. Even Hiroshima and Nagasaki were to deter a long and costly invasion of Japan that could have resulted in a Japanese pyrrhic victory.

If Iran were to militarily attack the US, it would be over. The mullahs know this, they are not stupid. Why do you think they play spy games? Because overt military action would result in destruction. Stop sounding the drums of war with weak countries. Instead, the USA should do something about Russia, it's practically an autocracy and is committing genocide in the Caucasus. Oh wait, can't happen, because Russia has a comparable military to the US and nukes.

Re: Report: Rebels Responsible for Houla Massacre

And why would countries like Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Kuwait, etc. want to get nukes?? They have the unwavering military and economic support of the USA and Europe. That's enough to deter Iran... Iran's nuclear program is:

1) To consolidate the regime
2) To prevent regime change
3) To deter invasions (they learned this from the Iran-Iraq War)
4) To win the trust of their people again through a populist achievement.

Re: Report: Rebels Responsible for Houla Massacre

And about the threats to Israel:

It's not just now that they threatened Israel with words... it's been going on for 30 years from Iran. For over 60 years from every Arab country in the region. But let's look at this for what it is instead of warmongering.

Iran is just as foreign to the Arabs as Israel. Arabs hate Iranians and have for 1,400 years. They call us "Ajam" which means "illiterate" because we don't speak their ugly language. They call us fire worshippers because when they were eating lizards and wiping their shit with leaves from date trees, Iranians had large Zoroastrian temples and palaces.

When the Iranian government says "Israel is our enemy" they say this to win the support of the Arab civilian majority, to turn them against their own leaders and raise a popular pro-Iran sentiment in those countries. The entire policy of the Islamic Republic was to include Arabs and be on their side because Iran is surrounded by Arabs and there's no logical way to be anti-Arab if you have no US support like the Shah did.

The people of the Middle East are so deprived and war weary that they believe conspiracy theories to explain their predicament all the time. For instance, the Lebanese think that Iran and Syria are behind everything that happens in their country, from their prime minister's farting to Hezbollah's popularity in the south. The Palestinians believe that the Israelis are part of a world conspiracy... Iranians believe that Britain still rules their country... etc. Desperate people believe in superstitions. So when Ahmadinejad, Khomeini, Rafsanjani etc say "Israel is our enemy" they are playing off of popular Arab sentiments and belief in conspiracy theory.

Re: Report: Rebels Responsible for Houla Massacre

Niknik I don't think you are dumb and we have some common things like believing in God and traditional values... thats why I think if you go to Barnes and Noble and pick out maybe 4 or 5 books on Iran you'll learn quickly and educate yourself... Remember America is the world's power and it can destroy any country, even China, with the press of a button... we are incredibly sheltered and safe, and this uneven balance of world power negates any reason why we should be afraid...
