I never buy PTFE (Telfon) cookware, nor do I use aluminium. I don't really understand anyone does.

PTFE never stays stuck to your pots, I never fancied consuming it so I won't buy it.

Anyone who has properly cleaned bare aluminium pots will have seen the discoloured water: aluminium oxide deposits, clearly not good for you.

Every time I see aluminium and/or telfon cookware, I just think back to the Victorian era with their lead plumbing, mercury hat polishes and arsenic medicines. Some day, people will learn.

BTW, is the popcorn feature of this story referencing those glossy coated grey cardboard inserts that you find in microwave popcorn and other microwave foods?

I'm not a fan of such things either but I hadn't ever thought about what they're made from.
