Perhaps it doesn't, but, you weren't amazed.

I learned in elementary school that plants were self-sustaining is all, not that I paid much attention to anything that wasn't art in some form.

I stuck a poinsettia plant in a closet at a law firm at which I used to work, didn't touch it for months and one day, it started blooming again.
