100 feet? That's about 30 meters. No way he would have been able to do decompression stops or safety stops without a tank, he's one lucky bastard.

lucky for him and the rescue crews that he hadn't gotten delirious, clastrophobic and paranoid. he may have then ended up thinking the rescue crews that he heard in the water were sharks. that would have made an even more interesting story...
