Man Denies Murdering Wife Even Though Body Parts Were Cooking on the Stove

Quote:
An elderly man has denied murdering his wife after police found her severed head in the freezer and body parts cooking on the stove at their home.

Officers were called to Frederick Hengl’s home after neighbour’s complained of a foul smell coming from the property.

One police officer entered the two-bedroom bungalow through a window and saw three pans on the stove which were found to contain body parts belonging to Hengl’s wife Anna Faris.

The 73-year-old victim’s severed head was also found in the freezer during the search of the home in Vista, southern California, on Friday morning.

A meat grinder, saw, boning knife and other cutting equipment were also found around the property as well as numerous pieces of freshly cut bone.

Deputy District Attorney Katherine Flaherty said there is no evidence of cannibalism at this time.

It is thought Ms Faris died some time in November although her cause of death has not yet been determined.

Hengl, 68, appeared frail as he pleaded not guilty to murdering his wife during a hearing yesterday, U-T San Diego reported.

He faces 25 years to life in prison if convicted of all charges.

He is jailed on five million dollars' bail.

I bet this is the culmination of decades of smoldering resentment.

Well, turkey is expensive. He just wanted a good home cooked meal & she was doing nothing but laying around the house.

I hope he lives long enough to get out at 93 just for the Hell of it.

Maybe he forgot!

I think the bail amount is a tad excessive
