Yikes. I thought having coyotes and foxes wander on my street was scary. I like leopards. But I like them from a distance.

Is there any other way? Once you get too close you're no longer having fun.

I was walking in my garden once and a fox exploded out of a bush just behind me and ran past out of the garden. I almost had a heart attack right there

I get so mad when I see this kinda stuff
if it comes into "our territory" we kill it.
If we go in to "its territory" an we get hurt, we kill it.
If its in the way of a building we want to build, we move it.
Ya know, you can only "rearrange" what mother nature has intended for so long before all hell breaks loose because of the UNNATURAL balance.
We are not superior to animals, and we forget that to often.

Leopard in Meerut remains elusive
Quote:
The stray leopard in Meerut remained elusive on the fourth day of the search which was carried out for it on Thursday by the Forest Department. DFO Meerut Sushant Sharma while talking to ‘The Pioneer" said that there were reports that the dog had been attacked by leopard in the Cantonement area however when the postmortem of the dog was carried out it revealed that it had died because of dehydration.

"There were no injury marks and the post mortem revealed that the dog had died because of dehydration" he said. On reports of an attack by an animal in Muzzafarnagar, the DFO said that the place of the said attack was about eighty kilometers from Meerut.
Leopard which terrorised Meerut, spotted in Ghaziabad
Quote:
A leopard, which had strayed into Meerut and then managed to escape from the city 's cantonment hospital on Sunday prompting authorities to sound a high alert, has been allegedly spotted in Ghaziabad.
On Tuesday night, one of the Bhawa villagers in Dhaulana tehsil of Ghaziabad claimed that she had seen a leopard.
Villager Satish Kumar's wife had gone to the animal shed at night. On seeing a big creature there, she raised an alarm. When she flashed her torch, she saw a leopard. The leopard fled into the forest on hearing her screams, a report in Amarujala said.
Without any delay, the villagers informed the Forest department about the incident and then, guarded the area the entire night. The Forest department immediately sent their team to the village, however, they suspected the claims could be mere rumours.

Even the Mathura district authorities had on Tuesday warned people to desist from spreading rumours regarding the sighting of the leopard which had run amok in Meerut.
However, on Wednesday morning, the villagers saw footsteps of the huge animal in the farms, samples of which have been taken by the officials, the report said.
Meanwhile, the SSP has now announced a reward of Rs 5,000 to those who can provide accurate information and Rs 20,000 to anybody who is able to catch the leopard.
At least six persons, including a police officer, were attacked and injured by the leopard which strayed into the city Meerut on Sunday. Later, the wild cat entered Meerut cantonment hospital sparking off panic among patients and hospital staff.
A team of Wild Trust of India (WTI) was called to trap the leopard but their bid proved futile as the animal escaped from the hospital breaking glass panes of window.
Fearing attack, district administration had appealed for closure of markets, schools and colleges in the city.
