Keyboard skills are going to be more important in the future than cursive.. But it will be funny when people start signing their names by printing them. I write in cursive because I'm lazy and don't want to lift my pen of the paper.

The last time I wrote in cursive (aside from signing my name) was in 3rd grade, 24 years ago. Its useless.

My schooling required both cursive and typing.. Why can't they do both?

it is pitiful! My daughter is 10 and going into the 5th grade. They learn cursive starting in second grade. It's not just about writing quickly. It's about fluency and the process the brain uses to create that conjoined handwriting on the paper. I just don't understand schools anymore. My niece went to an elementary school that did NOT have a music course. But they had football!?!?! I mean

Lol, the use of cursive should be banned for doctors, IMHO:
the way they write, often, looks much more like some electrocardiography than some calligraphy.
