That's the awful tragedy, they've lost their childhood too. Birthdays and Christmasses, core stages and achievements in their growth and learning/education, etc. What a terrible shame  |

Im' completely torn....I feel helpless, sad...just this huge feeling that my world ended tonight after seeing that picture...This needs to have a better ending for these 2 children. What can we do guys? Anything you can think of...We need to rescue or help or get help for these 2 kids. I'm willing to do whatever it takes. It just grips me that these kids are left like this...in this shit country..the last time I felt this feeling looking at a picture was when I seen the pic of the 9-11 falling man...  |

To understand this situation you have to look at the land ownership in Guatemala where the rich can take lan from the poor families in this way. Kill all possible members of a family so nobody can contest in court the rights to the land that they (rich people) want. In this case this brother and sister survivors will either be killed later on, or an arranged adoption can happen so that the children can be "helped to forget". Guatemala has an organized crime system (CACIF)supported by the army (also the training grounds for the zetas whose videos are found in this medium) and the police. The court have no power or are corrupt enough that you relly can't expect justice. Whatever the reason the parents were killed these two little ones a possible witnesess. |
