That takes balls, but I have to admit when I'm at my worst I think about "what if" I could just end it all right now.

I read where Brittany said people were telling her she doesn't look sick enough to want to die, pisses me off. So many illnesses don't have a "look" and it's no one else's business. You can see in her photos how her appearance changed though.

I've been given phenobarbital, but that's my only barbiturate use. I hope it was quick and easy.

Wow I really feel for this girl. Well said how she "Will die and peace, and certainly on her own terms" http://www.cnn.com/2014/11/02/health...ard/index.html. Now can find peace without the extraordinary amount of pain she would have to endure. RIP

I think we can all agree what a terrible decision she had to make, I hope it was quick and easy too.

I hope none of us are ever in the same situation

Re: Brittany Maynard, Right-to-die Advocate, Ends Her Life

The Bible doesn't say you can't/shouldn't kill yourself. That concept is a perversion introduced by the catholics.

I'm Christian, but not catholic. I had the misfortune of attending a catholic college, which required taking at least 2 catholic-propaganda classes. It was in those classes the I first heard about "God hates suicide" bullshit. I understood their point, but then again, it's not written in the Bible; that means it's the only the opinion of the catholic church and not the Word of God. The non-catholic Christians don't spew that dogma. They don't like suicide (hell, who does?!) But non-catholic Christian churches don't have really-old pastors seclude themselves in a remote enclave for years upon years, only to have their resulting opinion be treated just slightly-less than Scripture...

... just before running off to fuck children and cover it up.

Bottom Line: RIP, Ms. Maynard...

... and fuck catholicism.

P.S. And if you hate this post, eat my ass. You can angrily reply all you want, but I won't be checking back on this thread. I said my piece and I'm out.

Re: Brittany Maynard, Right-to-die Advocate, Ends Her Life

I'm sure most bible interpretations are that of opinions, or at the very least perception of the meanings behind them.

There is very little written in the bible that is straight forward, other than the 10 commandments Which in my opinion is a simple summary of the whole meaning of the faith.

The rest of the bible is vague, full of riddles, and metaphors that could easily be misleading.

Wanna see endless debates? just check some of the religious forums, they aggressively debate the meaning of versus into the ground, which in my mind means no one actually knows what they mean fully.

I would rather die too than suffer needlessly.

Re: Brittany Maynard, Right-to-die Advocate, Ends Her Life

So sad for such a good person. I hope her family and friends find peace. She did what was best for her and the family she loved. She did not burden or put painful struggling into the memory of her life. Rest in peace.
