You can defend the guy all you want but what's important here is that he can not justify his use of force against these people causing misdemeanors like menacing, trespass and disorderly conduct.

When you look at the big picture here, this would not have happened if a convicted felon was given the job as a customer service rep at McDonald’s. IMO the system has failed.. This is now his second felony charge against him and will be locked up for a long time. Maybe they will think twice before hiring him again.

My issue is he did his time,
People make mistakes sometimes and they cant just be UNHIRABLE otherwise they have no legitimate income then they have to earn money somehow, yes he went excessive but they were coming back there to assault him they didn't jump the counter just to just trespass or just appear menacing, they were going to hurt him and probably didn't expect to end up in the hospital. They were going to hurt him, his criminal history probably played a role in how he defended himself. But you had better believe anyone that would have tried to protect themselves with 2 individuals jumping over the counter would have ended up.
All im saying is watch the one jump over the counter in the beginning, could have had a gun or a knife, and as far as I can see he carried himself professionally and they were the aggressors and a serious threat to him in the situation.
Just he could have quit hitting early on when they were disabled. But better believe if someone approached me like that and put me or anyone else in a corner, some form of defense is in order.
