Status thing. It's "cool". Chavs in the UK have made it their national uniform, Adidas tracksuits and Burberry caps. Name brands like Adidas, Nike, Reebok, etc. tend to be VERY expensive, in relative $ terms, so it's like having an iPhone in the USA, for example. Same goes for McDonalds. In Russia, some McDonalds are actually sit-down restaurants. It's a little piece of the "American dream" (illusion/nightmare) to match what they see on tellie and at the cinema. |

the NS (national socialist) badge on his jacket damn, there were subtitles on the video on the site where i got it, so not sure why the subtitles didnt get carried across when i saved the video. basically they are talking about hanging out and drinking beers, and they say it's the blond guy's turn to bring the beers, and they askk him if he;s gotten the beers since it's his turn. he ends up telling them he doesnt have beers, puts up ihs middle finger. and walks off or something along those lines. the guy then beats him for not bringing beers when it was his turn. or that's what the subtitles used to say anyway. |
