Anti-depressant Drugs | Death Pictures and Death Video

Who's on them? and what do they feel like? know anybody on them?

I've never tried them but i'm curious as to their effect on the mind.

Do they make you feel.... like a lion? a cub? a zebra?

Happy?

Re: Anti-depressant Drugs | Death Pictures and Death Video

I used to be on Paxil and Celexa and it wasn't fun. All I did all day was zone out and stare at the wall. I constantly slept and never left the house. A fantastic time in my life. After two months, I just flushed them and quit going to my shrink. Bad decision on my part, but at least I'm no longer a zombie.

I was supposed to be, but since I didn't like the effects, I played doctor and tossed em. Since then, I've been to over a dozen different shrinks and taken more than my fair share of anti-depressants, all of which I stopped taking.

I'm not a bright person.

First, when it comes to this discussion, I'm more than well versed. Taking an anti-depressant, is like putting a band aid, on a broken leg. It doesn't get, to the root of the depression. Unfortunately, in this country, drugs are the answer. In my world, the real world, that is farthest from the truth. It's about coping skills, how we cope with fear, anxiety, ect, ect. Now this is my opinion, from personal experiences.

I took em because I was pretty much forced to. It wasn't by choice any of the times. Now that I'm trying to work out my issues without the help of drugs, it's not turning out so well, but I refuse to get put on anything else so doctors refuse to see me. I'm a doormat most of the time, but I can stand up for myself on certain occasions.

Joker- you seem like an exceedingly intelligent person. I'm sure the choices you've made are 100% appropriate, and good for you for sticking by them despite opposition. I deeply respect your strength & courage. I salute you.

Stiffy- I couldn't agree more. If only the multi-billion (or is it multi-trillion these days?) pharmaceutical industry agreed with us too, the world would be a thriving utopia of peace & harmony. Maybe one day... (who I am kidding, it's only going to get worse).

Well, it's a constant argument. I agreed fully to go back to therapy because I honestly believe I need it. My one and only condition is that I don't get put on pills, but each one wants me to. Finally, I gave up and said screw it. I'll deal with it myself. I have bumps along the way, but I'll get there without pills.

Damn straight you will!

The fact that you refused them is testament to your sanity!

More people should be like you- thats the truth

SJ you weren't on them long enough to build a steady level, so your safe. People who have been on then a little longer musn't just stop taking. With most anti-depressants, people have to be weaned off slowly to prevent thoughts of suicide or paranoia. People often feel tired or numb when they first take anti-depressants but these side-effects disappear as serotonin levels rise.
