 25-foot tall coconut palm tree stolen from yard 25-foot tall coconut palm tree stolen from yard in Delray * ( Ya gotta love Florida!!  )Sun-Sentinel DELRAY BEACH – Police are on the lookout for a 25-foot tall coconut palm tree ( ) that was reported stolen from a yard on Wednesday.Sylvio Pierre-Louis, 50, said he discovered the tree that had been on the east side of his home wasn't there anymore around 4 p.m. Pierre-Louis valued the stolen tree at more than $400. He told police he gave no one permission to dig up and take the tree. Another resident at home on the 2100 block of Dorson Way -- Fedric Adonus, 29 – told police a man came to the door on Wednesday and asked to buy the palm tree, but left when he was told it wasn't for sale. Police are looking for the man who came to the door and are treating the missing tree case as a grand theft.

| OK, so not one person noticed some stranger digging a 25ft damn tree out of a yard, putting it in a damn truck, and driving off. My god what is wrong in this world when your own neighbors dont even care what is going on outside their own homes!!!

| Who would want to steal a tree? On the other hand I can imagine that if i saw some guy working in the yard next door i wouldn't think they are there to steal a tree, I probably asume they were doing a job that needed be done. |

| I guess this gives a new meaning to the cliche' "why don't you make like a tree, and leave"? :banana_sml: Q: If a tree was taken in the middle of a lawn, but noone was there to witness it, did the tree still get stolen? :banana_sml: Well I hope the police can get to the 'root' of this problem quickly. |
