We may really never know the fate of this soldier, that could have been magnesium/phosphorus tipped tracer of 7.62 x59, a pretty fucking huge armor piercing round, but it doesn't really matter whether the sniper was successful in killing his victim, it is also effective psychological warfare knowing that you could be stalked by a sniper anywhere at anytime.

who died and made you the guru of snipers? ever consider the fact that he may have wanted to set off the grenades located on the target's chest just to add some drama since he knew his shot was being recorded on vid? btw, he kinda succeeded in doing so coz the target was smoking where he was shot. |

Theres a clip where a US medic gets shot by an Iraqi sniper who is positioned accross the road in a van, the vest saves the medic, but suddenly, the duo sniper team realizes the US soldiers now know where they are, they then do the bolt in their van, only to be captured after the US soldiers shoot them up a bit, their wounds are serious and need treatment, guess who had to treat their wounds? yep, their intended target, but, the vest DID  stop the rifle bullet.
