Jacksonville Hotel Robbery Caught on Camera

Video shows a hotel in Jacksonville Florida being robbed at gunpoint.

Jacksonville, Fla - A woman was sitting in the hotel office at Hampton Inn on Chaffee Point Blvd.
with her manager when someone walked in.

She got up to greet the potential customer, but she was forced back into the office by a man with a gun.

"Every time I close my eyes, I have that first image of him at the counter with a gun. I can't get rid of that image," said the woman.

One man filled a bag with cash, while the other man robbed her and her manager.

"They demanded us to lie face down on the floor and then they wanted to get into the safe,"

She says the men demanded that her manager turn off the cameras, so the entire robbery was not recorded.

"He ripped out all the wires so the footage would be lost... so they would see they weren't on camera... so that might satisfy them so they wouldn't do anything,"

Investigators now believe the two men are responsible for other hotel robberies.

"They jump over the counter, brandishing a gun. They will take the victims and place them in the back, put them on the floor sometimes and rob the business demand cash and any other goods they can get their hands on. This has happened methodically in each case," said Jacksonville Sheriff's Office Public Information Officer Ken Jefferson.

Police say the crime spree began Thursday at the Homestead Studio Suites on Western Way. Then, police say the men robbed the Hampton Inn off Chaffee road. Cops say the men robbed the Hilton Garden Inn on Gate Parkway on Friday and then held up the Holiday Inn at I-295 and Commonwealth on Sunday.

Police say the suspects got away with several thousand dollars in cash.

Each time, the victims describe the getaway car that was caught on camera at the Hampton Inn.

"A white, possibly Buick Regal, a four-door sedan," said Jefferson.

Amber hopes the surveillance video will help end the crime spree soon.

"I hope they get caught and spend the rest of their lives in jail," said the woman.

JSO is now taking a closer look at two additional hotel robberies to determine if the men are involved with those, as well.

The four hotels already connected to the suspects have increased security with guards, video and audio surveillance.

"Did you buy the masks?"
"Nah, I forgot"
"Then I'll just use my arm. If you remember, cover your chin with your collar. That should be enough to fool everyone."

Then again, if they had brains, they'd probably not be robbing hotels.
