I wonder if anyone ever made it
Google 'Kevin Hines', he survived the jump and has now turned his life around and gives talks on suicide prevention.

Re: The Golden Gate Bridge

It shocked me that these two people just jogged past a suicidal person who sat on the railing facing OUTWARD! If those joggers cared so much about their own health to jog, why not fucking help another human being out?!
I remember reading from somewhere a suicide note left on the GG Bridge, someone said that "if someone had smiled at me on my way here I wouldn't have done it.", which I can totally relate to, if only just one single person showed some kindness and warmth! Fuck! I wanna be a suicide patrol on the GG bridge now.

Hearing about that suicide note saying "if someone had smiled at me.....", that is probably the saddest thing I've ever heard.

I really sympathise with these people

Re: The Golden Gate Bridge

Im not ashamed to say i cried a lot watching this,i hated how in some cases people juet walked on past and did fuck all to stop them, i truly feel sometimes not always an act of human compassion and kindness could sway a person and make themcthink twice about killing themselves, shame on all those people who turned a blind eye, always try to help if possible and if you fail at least you can sleep easy thats how i feel

Re: The Golden Gate Bridge

I saw the movie. It is heartbreaking. The guy with long hair walks around for a.long time before.jumping. there is also an interview with a guy who survived jumping.

Re: The Golden Gate Bridge

I'm sure there were some jumpers who were mentally not all there, but this is so very sad that anyone thinks that suicide is the only way out of their situation. It just makes me feel so very sad. God rest their troubled souls.

Re: The Golden Gate Bridge

I am surprised by the depressed tone of most of the comments in this thread. There are reasons why suicide is better than living. Debilitating disease/pain. Avoiding consequence of bad decisions, such as prison. Mental ailments/anguish/inability to cope. Why shouldn't a person decide on the ideal time to die? I think it is natural.

I am glad there are places that people can go to die without leaving a mess for others to clean up. This removes guilt from the act, and the people who say "suicide is selfish" can eat their words in San Fran.

I like the guy who crossed himself before he leaped. That showed proper sanctity in his decision to die.
