The 1934 Loch Ness Photograph

Supposedly stories of a monster in Loch Ness have been around since 565, but only when this picture was taken and showed to the world in 1934, “Nessie” began to be the object of contradiction, research and tourism.

The interest for the creature ended in 1994 when Christian Spurling, admited it was a fake made by
his father, Marmaduke Wetherell.

They made a wooden monster, Ian took the picture and they convinced Robert Kenneth Wilson (the village doctor), to tell the world he shot the picture.

Re: The 1934 Loch Ness Photograph

You can tell it's a hoax by comparing the size of the ripples/waves to 'Nessie'. Least they tried!

Re: The 1934 Loch Ness Photograph

I was trying to find an underwater pic I saw on the news in the mid 90s and came across this other pic I had this pic in a "mysteries of the unknown" book, it was taking during an expedition in 1973.

the pic I was looking for was of a flipper, similar to the one i added below from a 1970s expedition how ever it is said this fin pic below is a hoax

If there was really a Nessie the Scots would have eaten it by now. Any one who'll eat haggis will eat anything.

Re: The 1934 Loch Ness Photograph

I always loved the idea of Nessie, especially since I'm a big fan of dinosaurs and mezozoic reptiles. Then I started reading about ecology and realised it makes no sense whatsoever.
