Re: Car Accident with Explosion

I experienced that right outside my front door when we lived on a farm with a notorious bend in the road. A mini ended up on it's roof, guy had facial fractures so his eye was out of position and mum ran out with tea towels to help. The car burst into flames and my parents never told me if he was still in it. Hang on! I'll just ASK them! What an idiot!!

Re: Car Accident with Explosion

Your 'dish towels' is a helluva lot more logical than our version Who dries tea?

In 18th century England, a tea towel was a special linen drying cloth used by the mistress of the house to dry her precious and expensive china tea things.

Servants were considered too ham-fisted to be trusted with such a delicate job, although housemaids were charged with hand-hemming the woven linen when their main duties were completed.

Update: 2 lads were in a mini that spun out of control and landed on it's roof at the other side of the road. Both were very stunned and one had facial fractures that dislodged his eye. Fire was starting but they were rescued in time before it really took hold. Tea towels helped mop up the blood
