Granny Finds Granddaughter and Friend Shot, oklahoma, June 2008

Taylor Placker, 13 and Skyla Whitaker, 11, were shot and killed on County Line Road near the small town of Weleetka in Okfuskee County, about 90 miles east of Oklahoma City.

The girls had spent the night at Placker’s rural home near Weleetka.

The two girls walked to a nearby bridge --a popular hangout for young people in the area. Shortly after they left the Placker home, Skyla’s mother called to say that she was coming to pick up her daughter.

Peter Placker, Taylor’s grandfather, tried to reach Taylor on her cell phone to tell them to come home.

When Taylor didn't answer, Placker then walked down the dirt road in search of the girls. He found the girls --shot to death on the side of the road.

His wife, the grandmother, called 911 and the Okfuskee County Sheriff Department arrived at the location.

The sheriff requested help from the Oklahioma Bureau of Investigation.

The OSBI discovered that 2 different caliber weapons were used on each of the girls, indicating the possibility that 2 or more shooters are involved --or that one shooter used 2 guns.

At the scene, OSBI crime scene agents collected several pieces of possible evidence in the case.

Among those items were tire track impressions, shoe impressions, and bullet casings.

Update on this case. Kevin Sweat plead guilty to three counts of first-degree murder in July 2014, as part of a plea deal to avoid the death penalty.

At his sentencing, however, he had changed his mind and wanted to withdraw his guilty plea, but the judge didn't allow it. He was sentenced to three consecutive life sentences without the possibility of parole.

His appeal to the Oklahoma Court of Criminal Appeals to withdraw his guilty plea was denied in September 2015.

Looks like no one has been caught, that sucks. Who in the hell would just randomly shoot two kids that age. Totally fucked up.

when my kids were growing always worried about shit like this. now i worry about my grand kids.minnesota is has alot of freaks.the town i live in has several high level sex offenders.

Sorry YAAAAAaaaaswwwWWN. No magic Father to right all the ugly things that go on in the Animal Kingdom. Although i heard a story about some kingdom in the sky where this don't happen. only catch is you have to be DEAD to get the benefits.
